Pantone have pushed the boat out for 2021 and named not one, but two colors of the year! ‘Illuminating’, a cheerful shade of yellow, and ‘Ultimate Gray’ have been chosen as Pantone’s 2021 colors of the year to communicate a message of strength and hope.
In choosing this combination of colors, Pantone aim to reflect the current global mood. It’s "a message of happiness supported by fortitude’, explains Leatrice Eismann, Executive Director of Pantone, ‘The combination... is aspirational and gives us hope. We need to feel that everything is going to get brighter – this is essential to the human spirit.”

The warm vivacity of ‘Illuminating’ brings feelings of optimism and positivity, whilst ‘Ultimate Gray’ is symbolic of solid dependability - like pebbles on the beach withstanding the test of time. It quietly assures, encouraging feelings of steadiness and resilience.
